18 months and counting!

I am currently supposed to be working on a paper for my Evaluation Methodology class...but I would much rather write to you fine friends.

Did you know Theo is almost 18 months old?! Seriously, this kid, is the best. He is the most precious, loveable, patient soul in the whole world. We just got pictures done with Marlo Brown Photography, so I will have to add a few pictures! And it is time to celebrate another milestone because HE IS ARMY CRAWLING. You heard right! This kid is starting to get mobile. His favorite thing to do right now is throw his bead necklace and crawl to it, and throw it and crawl to it. It is so funny because his therapists have been saying for months that he can do it, he just doesn't want to and our mission as parents is to find something he will crawl for. Well, after buying light up toys and musical toys, turns out all he wanted to crawl for was a bead necklace. Oh Theo.

Also, this kid is getting his first 2 teeth. BOTH are MOLARS on the top. He is not happy about it. It is common for kids with Down syndrome to get teeth in a different order and later than typical kids, but they will all come in eventually.

What else? Do you want an update on the amazing Travis Harris? Oh, well, you know. He is always doing something awesome. He plays hockey at 6am a few days a week and usually at night once a week. He tutors some of his hockey kiddos in math and science in the afternoons. He loves and plays with Theo every second of the day...and on top of all that, he is studying for the LSAT. YUP. You heard that right. BIG NEWS! Travis has an aspiration for law. So we are in transition from a PhD in Biophysics to law school. He is interested in doing patent law, immigration law, and child advocacy law. The LSAT is coming up and he will start law school in 2019. I think it is a perfect change for him and I am proud of him for making such a big change half way through his PhD program. He is still working through health issues, but has come SUCH A LONG WAY from where he was a few years ago and we are only making progress from here. :)

Biggest news yet...We are moving back to UTAH in ONE MONTH. I feel honored to say that I was accepted to teach math at the new Utah Military Academy in Lehi. I am so so excited to teach math to the future leaders of the military and connect math to their future careers. These students are already honorable in my book. The school building is still being built, so I look forward starting this adventure with Utah Military Academy from the beginning in a NEW building.

Also, I AM HALF WAY THROUGH MY MASTER'S PROGRAM and I only started in September. You can be proud of me. :) If you want to know about WGU's online programs, feel free to ask. I love the flexibility of the program...and the scholarships.

We are currently looking to buy a townhome somewhere in Utah County. We already made two offers on homes we loved, and we were bid out by cash only offers. The housing market is insane right now, so hopefully we will find something before we move.

We are heading on a week long trip to the Great Lakes, Niagara Falls, Palmyra, and Kirtland with our good friends Reannon and Jamin next week. I am so excited. OH! AND not to mention that Reannon just accepted a PE teaching position at Utah Military Academy also! SO I get to teach with my rocking awesome mission companion...HOW AWESOME IS THAT.

We will definitely miss Columbus, especially our DSACO community and Special Youth Hockey community. Our first year and half with Theo was amazing with these communities at our side for support. But we are also excited to be close to family again.

Alright...back to writing my paper...

LOVE YOU ALL.

Here are a few more pictures...just because I love them.
